Counter Team $14 to $15 an hour, plus tips Cashier, barista, smoothie and acai, retail
The Counter Team runs the customer facing heart of Raw Market: the register, coffee bar, smoothie and acai station, and the retail floor. Every Counter Team member is cross trained across these stations and helps the service line during rushes with wrapping, plating, and restocking.
You might mostly be a barista or mostly a cashier, and you will still jump in wherever the store needs you. That includes cleaning, dishes, bathrooms, and trash. Nobody at Raw Market is above any task, including the owners.
What you need
- Alaska Food Handlers Card, we help you get it
- Work permit on file if you are 14 to 16
- No experience required
What you will do
- Warm, genuine customer service and accurate orders on the POS
- Learn the menu and the mission well enough to answer real questions
- Keep the counter stocked and clean, sweep the front and service areas
- Maintain the creamer, sugar, and utensil station
- Check and clean the restrooms throughout every shift
- Restock grab and go, keep an eye on shelf and local maker product
- Give honest wait times and hand the shift off clean
Stations you can grow into
- Cashier. Transactions, cash handling, gift cards, greeting the room, walking first timers through the line.
- Barista. Espresso, coffee, teas, and wellness lattes to recipe. Espresso is a craft here, it gets extra training and not everyone works it.
- Smoothie and acai. Smoothies and bowls to recipe, blender care, station stocking, backing up the second blender during rushes.
- Retail and produce. Stock, face, rotate, and label shelves, inspect produce, break down deliveries and cardboard, manage backstock.
Pay
Starts at $14 to $15 an hour plus shared tips once your training is signed off. Raises for reliability, for learning more stations, and for performance.
Kitchen Prep and Production $18 to $20 an hour Back of house, early and night prep shifts
Back of house food production: salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps, bowl components, sauces, dressings, and grab and go. Batch prep to Raw Market recipes with strict food safety, labeling, and FIFO rotation. Limited customer contact, which makes it ideal if you like heads down focused work.
What you need
- Alaska Food Handlers Card, we help you get it
- Work permit if you are 14 to 16, though most prep shifts suit 17 and up
What you will do
- Follow Raw Market recipes exactly. No freelancing, recipes change only when ownership says so
- Night and early prep: weighing, containerizing, and staging for the morning juice and hot programs, rolling burritos, prepping breakfast for the next day
- Clean and sweep the service kitchen, prep kitchen, walk in, and dry storage, and support restroom checks when assigned
- Help receive deliveries and check quality before the driver leaves, document shortages and damage
- Dishwashing, which is a core duty of this role and every role here
Pay
$18 to $20 an hour depending on experience, final number at offer.
Shift Lead Your base, plus $4 on manager shifts Experienced, part time manager on duty
There is always a boss in the room. The Shift Lead is an experienced team member who clocks in as manager on duty for certain shifts and works as regular staff the rest of the time. On manager shifts you hold the keys and you are the decision maker in the building.
You are not responsible for ordering, scheduling, or vendors. Those belong to the Store Manager and Kitchen Manager. When something breaks, runs out, or goes sideways and no other manager is around, you handle it and report up.
What you need
- Alaska Food Worker Manager Card for manager shifts, we help you get it
- Cross trained across most stations
- Reliable and calm under pressure
On manager shifts you will
- Open or close the store and lead the floor
- Resolve customer issues and manage breaks, including required minor breaks
- Enforce cleaning and quality checklists, including bathroom monitoring
- Respond to equipment and supply problems, and document incidents
- Secure cash and hand off clean notes to the next manager
Pay
Your regular base wage, plus $4 an hour any time you are scheduled and clocked in as manager on duty. You share tips on regular shifts, never on manager shifts.
Kitchen Manager $22 to $30 an hour Leads all kitchen operations
The Kitchen Manager works with the other managers and the owners to run all kitchen operations: consistent recipes, efficient prep and production, food safety, ordering, waste control, and training. This role leads with positive reinforcement and builds the culture we want back there, professional, clean, respectful, and drama free. Hands on daily, and it represents our mission of organic focused, seed oil free, house made food.
What you need
- Alaska Food Worker Manager Card
- Professional kitchen experience
- Training experience strongly preferred
What you will do
- Recipes and menu. Execute and maintain our recipes with clear portion standards. Menu items and standards change only with ownership approval, and you bring specials ideas through ownership.
- Training and leadership. Train the kitchen on recipes, knife skills, batch prep, storage, and sanitation. Correct with respect. Build camaraderie between the back and the front.
- Inventory and ordering. Weekly inventory, orders coordinated with the Store Manager so everything goes in together, par levels adjusted to sales, FIFO rotation.
- Receiving. Check every delivery before the driver leaves, especially produce. Open the boxes. Refuse bad product on the spot, they will not take perishables back later. Train a backup on this.
- Waste. Track it daily, repurpose creatively, hold portion discipline, and adjust ordering from what you see.
- Operations. Prep lists, production schedules, labeling and dating, Alaska food safety standards, clean stations, equipment issues reported fast.
- Support the floor. Help the front during rushes and hold the same store cleanliness standard. No role here is above any task.
Pay
$22 to $30 an hour based on experience and responsibility. Managers do not take from the tip pool.
Store Manager, Front of House $25 to $30 an hour One leader for everything outside the kitchen
The Store Manager works with the other managers and the owners to keep Raw Market running smoothly and at a high standard every single day. You lead the front of house team, own the customer experience, keep the store looking right, coordinate the counter, retail, and juice bar, and connect the front with the kitchen.
Leadership here means positive reinforcement, a good attitude, clear communication, and setting the tone. This is a working manager who steps into any station, and no task in the building is beneath any role, including this one.
What you need
- Alaska Food Worker Manager Card, we help you get it
- Food handling experience
- Leadership or training experience preferred
What you will do
- Lead the floor. Run shifts, delegate clearly, move people to the rush in real time, and step into register, coffee, smoothie, line, or retail whenever it is needed.
- Own the customer experience. Friendly knowledgeable service at every station, concerns handled professionally, and the menu, ingredients, and mission known cold.
- Presentation. The store looks like opening day, every day. Cleaning checklists, bathrooms monitored all shift, the outside entry, all floors, the creamer and utensil station, and the equipment.
- Retail floor. Stocked, faced, rotated, labeled, damaged and expired pulled. Keep a watchful eye on shelf and local maker product.
- Workflow. Checklists done, ingredient and prep needs communicated to the Kitchen Manager, online and special orders out on time, clean handoffs with notes.
- Team. Train and mentor new people on service, POS, drinks, and retail. Reinforce recipe and portion consistency. Give feedback respectfully and pass every issue up to ownership, always.
- Marketing support. Take good photos and video of the food, drinks, and store for social and menu updates, or coordinate whoever owns marketing.
- Admin. Opening and closing, register counts and cash handling, shift notes, schedule support, FOH inventory coordinated with the kitchen, and health and safety compliance.
Pay
$25 to $30 an hour based on experience and responsibility, salary is negotiable for the right person. Managers do not take from the tip pool.
